Frank Gessner, Berlin

Biography

Frank Gessner, is a visual artist. He was born in Würzburg and studied Fine Arts and History of Art in Stuttgart and Berlin, Germany. Since 2004 he holds the professorial chair of theory and practice for the Art of the Image and since 2006 he is Vice President for teaching, research and development at the University of Film und Television Potsdam-Babelsberg, Germany. He has done art research on Film and Visual Art, Hybrid-Film, Expanded Animation, Pre- and Futurecinema and had Guest professorships at the University of Fine Arts Berlin, Germany, China Academy of Art Hangzhou and Ritsumeikan University Kyoto, Japan.
