Gerd Gockell, Hanover

Biography
Gerd Gockell was born in 1960 in Darmstadt. From 1980–87 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brunswick and later worked as a freelance animator for HR-Hessischer Rundfunk TV Frankfurt. In 1988 he moved to London and worked on several film projects, and in 1990 he founded Anigraf fi lm production with Kirsten Winter in Hanover. Gockell has held various teaching appointments since 1992, including the Academy of Fine Arts in Brunswick, Ngee Ann Polytechnics in Singapore and the Academy of Fine Arts in Kassel. Since 2002 he is Head of the Animation Department at the Lucerne School of Art and Design, and since 2007 member of the Executive Board of the Animation Department. Gockell lives and works in Hanover and Lucerne.
