Timo Linsenmaier, Brussels

Biography
Timo Linsenmaier is currently writing his PhD on the aesthetics of Soviet animation. He studied Media Theory at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design with Boris Groys and Animation History at VGIK Film School in Moscow with Stanislav Sokolov. His 2005 MA thesis was on the development of Soviet animation after 1960 and the example of Soyuzmultfilm Studio. Linsenmaier won the Society for Animation Studies SAS Student Essay prize in 2006 for his ‹After-Images of Animation: On the Influence of Lost Animation Masterpieces›.
